About the work
He works with serial, two-dimensional and short-run works; Other formats are books and author folders, terracottas, posters, covers, conferences, workshops or curatorships.
To academically frame the production, let's say that expressionist influences are distinguished in the textures, surrealist in terms of narratology and minimalist in the composition and use of materials. Very aware of silence not without rhythms, or more specifically of a silent dance between the human figure and the apparently empty space. Since the support part without intervening acts representing the place where the choreography takes place. When the reference is the landscape, the horizons or clouds are presented as spots, creating an effect similar to the spots on the figures. Again in this case, the format and white space are as important as the intervention on it. These works are short series of less than 5 copies, made using traditional engraving techniques, which relate to each other in a continuity between images, generating an open work in a process of evolution.
An ever-expanding collection of portfolios in the form of artist books address very diverse topics, combining visual work with collaborations by scientists and writers. They have different formats and are bibliophile works with editions that usually consist of 20 copies. In this case, the techniques vary, although the printing press always appears as a manual means of producing images, combined with digital techniques for texts or complements.
In the case of three-dimensional pieces, they are presented in compositions of several or isolated. The materials are polychrome stone and terracotta, small format. Again a combination of expressionism and minimalism in its poorest sense would be the reference of historical styles to approach the appearance of these pieces. As for what underlies the message, it is the questioning of one's own body as a container of serenity.
