Dodo Dadá

Dodo Dadá It is an art gallery and a meeting space that seeks to encourage the free movement of human experience, thought and imagination.

Its main objective is to expose the work of contemporary artists committed to their uniqueness, authenticity and their own speech, needed and defended even if this goes against the main canon of the art or market world.

Dodo Dada offers a variety of cultural activities, such as poetic presentations, artistic expression classes and debates.

It also seeks to promote individual and collective experiences and serve as a communicative bridge between different artistic sensibilities.

For us it is very important that in our gallery there are works for different economic realities.

Dodo Dadá It is a hybrid space in the historic center of Ourense that also serves as a school and workshop for its founders: Marita Carmona and Xosé Vilamoure.

Marita Carmona

Carmona's work is characterized by exploring the relationship between the internal and external world, using symbols in constant movement to connect different moments and dimensions. His style is described as a "disturbing climbing of the figurative and symbolic, alternating metaphors and allegories with the blurred reality of everyday and ephemeral."

Xosé Vilamoure

Xosé Vilamoure

Punxín, Ourense, 1967. He is an artist who works mainly on paper, developing his work through series, which allows him to observe his artistic evolution over time. Self -taught by nature, Vilamoure bases its creative process on observation, being the history of art and the act of looking at its main influences: “I am figurative artist, and variants of it. I like to look (my greatest influence), and of course the history of art. I consider myself self -taught artist and work in series (it is a way of seeing how I grow up in it). When I look back I always like to refer to the year for the series I painted. Art is a healthy, and stimulating madness. ”

Among its most prominent series are Bags I, a series of portraits of contemporary artists, and Three, two, one, Eurasian Cabecibranca Cabecibranca and other portraits, where explores the idea of portrait, beauty and construction of personality. Together with his partner, Marita Carmona, Vilamoure directs the Dodá Gallery.
