Emily Dickinson and Marita Carmona
Las Certezas del Sol

Emily Dickinson's poems played with Marita Carmona's plastic art.

First edition October 2024.
Editor Frénetica Lab.

Marita Carmona, in an exercise of assimilation and experimentation, has created 20 drawings that start from 20 poems by the prodigious American author Emily Dickinson.

The author of Amherst left a legacy of incalculable value for her country and for the history of universal literature. Death, faith or absence of faith, nature and love are theme that the author uses as tools to elaborate images through the word. Poetry is part of its essence as a person and precisely because of that, Emily Dickinson broke many traditional style rules that confused their contemporaries.

Marita Carmona, a plastic artist and fervent poetry reader, understands Dickinson as a torrent of creativity that crossed her time in many aspects. With his drawings, full of creative experimentation, he intends to capture the universality and the eternal of the theme and style of those poems.
